Esophageal dilation balloon catheter procedure procedure explanation
Under fluoroscopic guidance, the catheter is inserted until the contrast ring passes the entrance to the esophagus (stenosis).
Up to 5mL of air is injected through the red valve to expand the fixation balloon and anchor it at the stenotic area.
Up to 20mL of air is injected through the blue valve to expand the dilation balloon and widen the narrowed area.
