(1) Use a coin or screwdriver to turn the spring screw at the bottom of the inside unit and remove the flint spring from the tube.
(2) Remove the worn flint from the tube and insert a new flint.
(3) Place the removed flint spring into the tube and tighten the spring screw until it stops. If it is loose, it will be difficult to open and close the cap.
(4) When first lighting or if the flint wheel feels hard to the touch, turn it backwards two or three times.
(5) Spare flints should be stored at the bottom between the felt pad and cotton.
