Metal ferrules form a ring near the end of the tube to prevent the tube from slipping out under high pressure without crushing or deforming the inside of the tube. (If the tube is as hard or harder than the ferrule, the tube may deform.) A typical connection finish requires only a quarter turn once the ferrule begins to grip the tube. Zero volume ferrules are available for all VALLCO fittings and many from other manufacturers. Pressure limits are generally determined by the strength of the tubing. Except for small diameter SUS-316, VALLCO ferrules/fittings have a service limit of 88.9 MPa. Plastic ferrules are available on request. Note: Please contact us for other materials and sizes.
