The bamboo blinds move slowly, making it easy to visually understand how waves work.
The behaviour of waves is slowly demonstrated and understood, including the superposition of waves from both ends and the difference in reflection at the fixed and free ends.
It is equipped with a motor-driven wave-making device, with the frequency being determined by the motor rotation speed and the amplitude being determined by the arm position.
The cross arms magnify the torsion of a central steel leaf spring, transferring the wave energy precisely and slowly.
It comes with a pendulum for experiments into pendulum resonance; the pendulum is attached to a central steel leaf spring, and the position of the weight can be freely adjusted.
Using the optional damper cylinder allows the energy of the waves to be absorbed by damping water such as in a beaker, which helps understand impedance.
Invented by Dr. Scheib of Bell Laboratories, USA Under the guidance of former Ministry of Education inspector, Mr. Nobutaka Ito Total length of device: approx. 930mm
Cross arm (vibrating blind): Length 460mm, φ5mm, 70 pieces, 13mm interval
Wave speed: Approximately 3.8 to 4.0 seconds per round trip
Wave maker: Motor type, power supply: 2 to 12V, variable rotation speed, crank type arm up and down drive
Accessories: Counterweight, 2 pendulums, damping plate, wave stopper
